Sportage EX or LX?
Both use the 187-hp 2.5L four with an 8-speed automatic, offer all-wheel drive and share the 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go and front and rear parking sensors. For $1,800 more in starting MSRP ($30,790 vs. $28,990), Kia's 2027 specs give the EX 18-inch wheels in place of 17s, a Smart Power Liftgate, a 10-way power driver's seat with power lumbar, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, rain-sensing wipers, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Safe Exit Warning. What the EX adds over the LX
18-inch wheels
18-inch alloy wheels with a black and machined finish on 235/60R18 tires; the LX has 17-inch machined alloys on 235/65R17 tires. The EX comes with a compact spare tire, which is optional on the LX in place of its tire mobility kit.
Smart Power Liftgate
A Smart Power Liftgate, plus a gloss black front grille in place of the LX's matte black grille.
Seats
A 10-way power driver's seat with 2-way power lumbar and heated front seats, both optional on the LX. Kia's EX trim card lists SynTex seat trim, and the EX interiors are Perforated Saturn Black or Perforated Misty Gray SynTex.
Climate and convenience
Dual-zone automatic climate control with auto defog, a wireless phone charger, two USB-C charge ports on the front seatbacks, rain-sensing wipers, one-touch up/down windows for driver and front passenger, and illuminated vanity mirrors.
Mirrors
Heated, power-adjustable side mirrors with LED turn signals.
Driver assistance
Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Safe Exit Warning. The first two are optional on the LX; Safe Exit Warning is not offered on it.

Available upgrades on the EX
Kia lists these as available, not standard, on the 2027 Sportage EX: all-wheel drive with Terrain Mode, a panoramic sunroof with power sunshade, LED interior lighting, low-profile roof rails in silver or gloss black, remote start, and pre-cooling and heating through the Kia Access app.
Navigation, Harman Kardon audio, Highway Driving Assist, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and LED fog lights are not offered on the EX; they start on higher trims. The window sticker on each EX shows which options it has.

Sportage EX colors
Kia's 2027 specs list seven exterior colors for the Sportage EX: Panthera Metal, Ebony Black, Gravity Gray, Glacial White Pearl, Wolf Gray, Nebular Blue and Runway Red. Interiors are Perforated Saturn Black SynTex or Perforated Misty Gray SynTex.
